NYFW: September 8 – 15, 2016

The first fashion week of New York in the past it was called “Press Week” and it was the first fashion week all over the world. It started in 1943, the fashion event was organized to divert the attention from French fashion during World War II, due to the fact that people working in the fashion industry they were unable to reach Paris to see the new French fashion collections. The publicist Eleanor Lambert organized an event, called “Press Week” to show the new american stylists’ collections to the journalists, who had neglected their work earlier.
The buyers were not admitted to the exhibition, while the stylists were admitted. The “Press Week” was a success and magazines such as Vogue, which previously they just focused on French fashion, they started to give more attention to the American Fashion, and, right now, we enjoy it with all the old glory!!
